W latach okupacji hitlerowskiej Kazimierza Wielka była silnym ośrodkiem konspiracji i ruchu oporu. W miasteczku istniała placówka ZWZ dowodzona przez por „Zbigniewa”, a następnie podobwód AK, wchodzący w skład obwodu pińczowskiego. W Kazimierzy działalność konspiracyjną rozwinęli także ludowcy. W miasteczku mieścił się centralny dla powiatu pińczowskiego punkt kolportażu i łączności podziemnego ruchu ludowego. Wielu mieszkańców, żołnierzy podziemia w Kazimierzy Wielkiej poległo w walce z okupantem.

During the years of occupation Kazimierza Wielka was a strong centre of conspiracy and resistance movement. A post of the Union of Armed Struggle (ZWZ) commanded by lieutenant “Zbigniew” and later on transformed into a Home Army sub-district, as a part of Pińczów district, existed in the town. Also the peasant party built up conspiracy structures in Kazimierza Wielka. The peasant’s movement had its central hub of the underground distribution and communication in the town. Many inhabitants and soldiers of the underground movement in Kazimierza Wielka have been killed in battles with the occupier.
